Castle with the Vatican Museums or the Pantheon

A ticket to explore Castel Sant'Angelo at your own pace, with a video on ancient Rome, and the option to add another visit in the same booking. Ideal for those who also want the Vatican Museums or the Pantheon in one day, without making two separate purchases.

Castle with the Vatican Museums or the Pantheon

The experience

The basic option is simple: the entry ticket to Castel Sant'Angelo, with access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, plus a multimedia video about ancient Rome. The voucher is exchanged at the entrance with Touristation staff, who have an orange umbrella and a red T-shirt. Then you explore on your own, from Hadrian’s tomb to the terrace overlooking St Peter’s, the Tiber and Ponte Sant'Angelo. The exhibitions change: until 22 November 2026, for example, the Appartamento del Castellano hosts “Fuochi sul Tevere”.

There are four options: the official audio guide of the castle, the ticket for the Pantheon, the one for the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, or a 3-hour Big Bus ticket. There is no guided tour, nor are headsets included. For the Pantheon or Vatican Museums, the listing requires appropriate clothing: this is a mandatory dress code for those options, so dress accordingly from the morning. The Vatican Museums are about 10-15 minutes’ walk from the castle.

The price starts from $34 per person (GetYourGuide, October 2026) and is non-refundable. The listing still shows the castle ticket price that was in effect before 1 July 2026: the text predates the change. For reference, from 1 July 2026 the official full ticket costs €18, the reduced ticket is €2 (EU citizens aged 18 to 25) and under-18s enter free. You need an ID for every participant, because Castel Sant'Angelo tickets are named and the museum staff check them at the entrance with an original document: if the details do not match, you will not be allowed in. Suitcases, large bags and animals are not permitted, and the castle has no cloakroom.

I was late for my booking time and couldn't find the person at Castel Sant'Angelo's entrance to exchange the voucher for the ticket. I called the agency, which immediately sent the ticket via WhatsApp, and I could enter Castel Sant'Angelo without issues. I want to thank the agency staff for their kindness and attention. [...]
